About the Enhance-project

The project aims to strengthen teacher education programmes across Europe, equipping student teachers with the digital readiness and capacity to empower learners’ digital competence and address digital exclusion.

Education plays a pivotal role in developing pupils’ digital competencies and facilitating inclusive digital practices. Hence, student teachers need to develop abilities to empower digital citizens and promote safe, ethically mindful digital literacy.

ENHANCE explores student teachers’ digital teaching practices in Ireland, Malta, Norway, Poland and Spain to assess how they develop pupils’ digital competencies. Sharing insights from this exploration, experiential workshops will be designed to educate student teachers on facilitating pupils’ digital competences mindful of new and emerging technologies (e.g. AI). This can promote a positive, robust, inclusive digital citizenship, empowering critical thinking and digital literacy.

Outputs

ENHANCE aims to produce extensive outputs, including comprehensive reports on each project stage for wider dissemination. Developing materials and resources for teacher educators across Europe is a pivotal output.

These outputs will impact teacher education practices at institutional, national, and European levels. Nationally, it will disseminate reports, resources, and guidelines to teacher education providers and inform policy development through stakeholder engagement at the European level
